Ok, so I’ve just found out about this because I’m behind in the times, but it looks really awesome and I’m going to do everything I can to make it.
The Twestival is organized 100% by volunteers in cities around the world and 100% of the money raised from these events will go directly to support charity: water projects. It’s awesome that Twitterers (Tweeple?) in Nashville have taken it upon themselves to put this on. Check the link below:
What: Nashville Twestival 2009
When: Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 5:00-8:00PM
Where: Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar
Why: I feel like this is a great way to get more involved in the burgeoning online community and help a great cause at the same time. There’s supposed to be prizes, schwag, and such, what more could you ask for?!
Cost: $10/person – ($10 provides someone with clean drinking water for 10 years!
The Goal: Raise $4,000 for Charity: Water
Like I said, I’m going to do everything I can to get there at least for a little while tonight, come down and join me!
I was there, and it was a twitterific good time! I met some cool people and had some fun.
