I need locations!
Posted by Chad on Oct 6, 2009 in Uncategorized | 0 commentsIt’s been over a year since I did the first day of shooting for a project I’ve kept mostly secret. It’s working name is Operation: Clown. It’s been pretty insane preparing for the next day, there have been many failed attempts in this past year to make this happen, so let’s all keep our fingers crossed.
The cool thing is that you guys can help make this happen! I’m in dire need of location suggestions, here’s a list of what I’m looking for.
1. An office: It needs to be a very typical cold corporate setting. Preferably a little modern (think cold steel and glass, not polished oak)
2. A bank: This one I’d like to be more traditional…large lobby w/ stone floors…perhaps some old style teller windows. Kinda like the bank from “Heat” or the one that the Joker robs in the beginning of “The Dark Knight”, something like that.
3. A hotel: A really fancy one, with a nice ornate lobby.
4. A bar: One basically like The Flying Saucer (if anyone has any connections there let me know)…it needs to be a nicer looking place, not dingy, and it needs to have a pretty good amount of room.
5. A military barracks style cafeteria: Or possibly anything that totally screams military. It needs to be a space that typically has military personnel in it. I’m thinking mess hall, or the bunks in a barracks. Just a space where 30-40 people in military uniforms wouldn’t feel out of place.
6. An Airport: I’ve checked with BNA and it’s going to cost far too much to shoot there ($1200) so I’m looking for alternatives. The shot will be standing in line waiting to board, so it needs to be a place where I could at least fake like the subjects are standing in line to board a commercial airline.
7. A diner: I may have this one secured already, but I’ll still take suggestions for it. Looking for an older 50s-60s style place.
The caveat to this is that since it is a personal project, that I’ve already sunk a great deal of money into, I have little to no money to pay a location fee. So keep that in mind when thinking of places. That being said, I’m pretty good at talking my way into shooting, so feel free to suggest anything even if you think it’ll be expensive.
Thanks for your help in advance! Please leave your suggestions in the comments below OR you can send me an email, a message on facebook, or twitter.
